Last updated 29 October 2026. These terms apply to every order placed on this website. Please read them before you order. If anything is unclear, email sales@appatches.co.uk.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Scoutwise Limited, trading as AP Patches, a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland, company number 799920, VAT number IE4503029QH. Registered office: 16 St Patricks Park, Stepaside, Dublin 18, D18 DP38. Our trading address is AP Patches, 51 Bracken Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18, Ireland. You can reach us at sales@appatches.co.uk. We do not take orders by phone. In these terms, “we” means Scoutwise Limited.
2. What we make
We make patches, badges and enamel pin badges to your own design: embroidered and woven patches from 50 to 100 mm, and soft and hard enamel pin badges from 13 to 51 mm. Every order is made to order for you. The minimum is 50 pieces per design, then steps of 10.
Anything we do not sell online, such as PVC or printed patches, larger patches or name patches, is quoted by email. Ask through the contact form. A quote is valid for 30 days.
3. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT. The price is the same whichever country we deliver to.
- There is nothing more to pay on delivery. We handle any customs duty, import VAT and paperwork for deliveries to the UK and the EU, so you will never be asked for a charge by the courier.
- Delivery is charged at checkout: £10 to the UK, £15 to Ireland and the rest of the EU.
- The price you pay is the one shown in your basket when you place the order.
- You can pay by card or another online method at checkout. These are charged when you place the order.
- Schools, councils, charities and companies can choose invoice or purchase order. We email an invoice when you order, and start your proof once it is paid by bank transfer.
4. How an order works
- You order and pay (or choose invoice) and upload your artwork, or describe your idea.
- We send a digital proof by email. It shows the design, size, colours, edge and backing we will make.
- You approve it or ask for changes. Nothing is made until you approve the proof in writing by email.
- We make your order in 4 to 6 weeks from the day you approve the proof, then deliver it.
A proof is a digital image. Thread, enamel and metal colours can look slightly different on screen from the finished product. Please check spelling, dates and details carefully: we make what you approve.
Delivery dates on the website are estimates from the day the proof is approved. If you have a firm deadline, tell us when you order and we will tell you whether it can be met.
5. Your artwork
- You confirm that you own the artwork you send, or have permission to use it, and that making it will not infringe anyone else’s rights.
- We may refuse a design, for example official insignia, crests or trademarks you are not entitled to use, or anything offensive or unlawful. If we refuse a paid order, we refund it in full.
- You keep the rights to your design. We use it only to make your order and any reorder you ask for.
6. Cancelling an order
- Before you approve the proof: you can cancel at any time for a full refund.
- After you approve the proof: the order goes into production, so it can no longer be changed or cancelled.
Because every order is made to your specification, the usual 14-day right to cancel an online order does not apply once production has started. This is set out in EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(c)) and, for UK customers, in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (regulation 28(1)(b)). Our cancellation rule above gives you more than the law requires.
7. Faulty or poorly made products
If anything arrives faulty or poorly made, our money-back guarantee applies: email sales@appatches.co.uk within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos, and we reply in 1 to 3 working days with a full refund or a free remake. We pay the return postage.
This guarantee is in addition to your legal rights as a consumer, which it does not affect.
8. Delivery
We deliver to the UK, Ireland and the EU. The order is yours, and at your risk, once it is delivered to the address you gave. If an order arrives damaged or does not arrive, email us and we will put it right.
9. Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit or lost opportunity. Our total responsibility for an order is limited to the price you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Business customers
If you order for a business, school, club or other organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to place the order for it. Sections 6 and 7 still apply.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland and the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the UK or another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
If something goes wrong, please email sales@appatches.co.uk first. We will try to sort it out quickly.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you placed it.
