Our legal reasons

  • Contract: to take, make, deliver and support your order.
  • Legal obligation: to keep order and invoice records for tax.
  • Legitimate interests: to answer enquiries, keep the website secure and prevent fraud.
  • Consent: for any optional cookies (see the cookie policy). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Emails from us

We email you about your order: confirmation, proof, invoice and delivery. If you leave “Only email me about this order” unticked at checkout, we may also occasionally email you about our own similar products. Every such email has a way to stop them, and you can ask us to stop at any time.

Who we share it with

Only with the companies that help us run the shop, and only what each one needs:

  • Our website host (Rocket.net), which stores the website and its data.
  • Stripe, which processes online payments. If you pay with Klarna or another payment method shown at checkout, that provider also processes your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • The courier that delivers your order, which receives your name and delivery address.
  • Google Workspace (Google), which hosts our email, and the service that sends the website’s order emails.
  • Google Ads (Google), which receives a signal when you order, add to your basket or send us a message after clicking one of our adverts, with the order total but no name or contact details. It only sets cookies if you accept them in the cookie banner (see the cookie policy).
  • Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountant or the tax authorities, where we have to.

Some of these companies are based outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where your information is transferred, it is protected by an adequacy decision or by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and the UK.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: six years after the end of the financial year of the order, as Irish tax law requires.
  • Artwork: with your order, so a reorder is quick. Ask us and we will delete it.
  • Enquiries and quote emails that do not lead to an order: up to two years, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. Email sales@appatches.co.uk. We reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie). If you live in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We would rather you came to us first.
